As announced previously, SuperMemo was present at BookExpo America 2016 on May 11-13 in Chicago, US, among delegates representing Poland at BEA Global Market Forum, part of the BEA Content & Digital Conference.
The schedule for the first day of the exhibition was filled with open sessions that provided an introduction to the Polish publishing industry and gave an insight into the current trends and developments.
Along with CD Projekt RED and their “The Witcher: Wild Hunt” game based on a series of fantasy novels by Andrzej Sapkowski, SuperMemo was invited to take part in a seminar titled “Innovative Global Successes of Polish Multimedia and Transmedia Publishing” with our multiple-award winning “Olive Green” film-based course of English. Moderated by Chris Kenneally, Director of Business Development, Copyright Clearance Center, with Krzysztof Biedalak, CEO at SuperMemo, and Jakub Szamałek, Senior Writer at CD Projekt RED, as speakers, the session turned out to be an engaging dialogue about both ground-breaking projects. Stories about how they started and evolved were told, bringing on questions from the audience about the challenges, pitfalls, satisfaction and lessons learnt for both companies and teams. Those present heaped praise on us, wishing us good luck with the ambitious “Olive Green” series of publications. Apart from the GMF day, it was business as usual at BookExpo America. Our “Olive Green” product was available for licensing and presented as part of the joint Polish stand under the label of the Polish Book Institute. The stand was swarming with visitors especially at times of book signing by Polish authors who joined the delegation to the Windy City: Artur Domosławski, Dorota Masłowska, Zygmunt Miłoszewski and Magdalena Tulli, among others.
On March 14-16, SuperMemo will be present at stand 4A11 (within the Polish National Stand at Olympia, South Kensington, London), welcoming all visitors...
